Chris Peppler

In his post Very old and random Sasuga posted a link that he dug out of his bookmarks. I must’ve found that site while using his computer to search, saved it to his bookmarks, and moved on. I have to remember to email that kind of stuff to myself when I find it on his computer.

In any case, the link leads to a very informative article about one of my favorite radio and television personalities. His name is Chris Peppler. I found out about him while watching Japanese television, and found his style and approach interesting. Not only was his Japanese fast and fluent, but he would seamlessly alternate between Japanese and perfectly natural English. I also appreciate his professionalism. Lately, I’ve been downloading the J-Wave Tokyo Hot 100 podcast (hosted by Peppler) to practice listening to Japanese. Check it out if you’re interested!

Just last year, as chance would have it, Peppler’s name came up again while I was reading a blog about Japan. He was (and still is) hosting a television program titled Tokyo Eye. One of the guests was Matt Alt, a writer and translator specializing in Japanese pop culture. You can find that clip and others HERE.
